So seriously for the last few days Blogger and I were not getting along. It didn't matter what I did, but I couldn't log in to post, so I'm sorry I was MIA.

Scotty Dog

I like the idea of a fire hydrant that isn't red. I actually think I see more yellow fire hydrants, than red ones on a daily basis. All the fire hydrants in my neighborhood are yellow. They're not mustard, though. They're more Yo-Yo Yellow.

Supplies
Stamps: Man's Best Friend
Ink: More Mustard, Close to Cocoa, Ruby Red
Paper: More Mustard, Close to Cocoa, Ruby Red, Very Vanilla
Accessories: Large and Scallop Oval Punches

Little Flowers

I love how big the flower image is compared to the stem image in Cheep Talk. I know that this will be one of my favorite ways to use this stamp set. And this is a new color combo for me. I really wanted to use Always Artichoke, so I plugged it into the color combos website to see what it came up with. What do you think of this color combo?

Supplies
Stamps: Cheep Talk
Ink: Always Artichoke, So Saffron, Almost Amethyst, Versamark
Paper: Always Artichoke, So Saffron, Almost Amethyst, Whisper White
Accessories: Stampin' Dimensionals, Always Artichoke 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon

Sunny Bird

I always check the sketch challenges on SCS, but sometimes they just don't appeal to me or don't scream "make a card with me!" but this week's sketch did appeal to me. I knew it would be a perfect layout to use the whole branch from Cheep Talk. And then I decided I needed to dive into the Good Morning Sunshine DSP (even though it's for scrapbook class). So here's what I came up with for this week's sketch.

Supplies
Stamps: Cheep Talk
Ink: Summer Sun, Chocolate Chip, Old Olive
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Old Olive, Whisper White, Good Morning Sunshine DSP
Accessories: Chocolate Chip 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon, Stampin' Dimensionals

Playing the Slots

One of the challenges during VSN was a sketch challenge based on a slot machine. Of course I had to give that one a go! I love a sketch challenge! And I was itching to ink up Cheep Talk.

Supplies
Stamps: Cheep Talk
Ink: Pumpkin Pie, Brilliant Blue, Old Olive, Chocolate Chip
Paper: Pumpkin Pie, Brilliant Blue, Old Olive, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White
Accessories: Button, Small & Large Oval Punches, Stampin' Dimensionals.

Details

Here is a scrapbook page I put together using the Hoppy Memories Simply Scrappin' Kit! I love the bold colors and fun patterns in this kit. And not too mention the cute frogs! I didn't use any cards on this page, but I did use the fun Designer Series Paper! Each square of DSP is 2" x 2". This is going to be the first page in a scrapbook, so I used the "details" die cut in the bottom corner. I covered a chipboard star with Old Olive textured cardstock. And I also added two loops of ribbon on my photo mat, one of Chocolate Chip 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon, the other is Tempting Turquoise 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon.

This page turned out really cute and I can't wait to make a few more to finish out the book. And I look forward to seeing the pages with pictures, too!

Bright Hello

So, I didn't use any Bold Brights in this color combo, but this card seems so bright to me! And how cute is this bird?!?! I'm in love with it! I had to make something right away with my new stamps and this is the first made with Good Friend.

Supplies
Stamps: Good Friend, Cheep Talk
Ink: Taken with Teal, Pumpkin Pie, Chocolate Chip
Paper: Taken with Teal, Pumpkin Pie, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White
Accessories: Large Oval and Scallop Oval punches, Stamp-a-ma-jig

Central Park in Vegas

This weekend was Virtual Stamping Night over at SplitcoastStampers and I was able to squeeze in a challenge before my scrapbooking party. The theme for VSN was Vegas, so all the challenges were Vegas related. This challenge was to only use the colors of a deck of cards. Therefore I could only use red, black, and white. And since I got new stamps on Friday I had to use them! So here is Central Park in Vegas!

Supplies
Stamps: Central Park, Hugs & Wishes
Ink: Real Red, Basic Black
Paper: Real Red, Basic Black, Whisper White
Accessories: Basic Black 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon, Stamp-a-ma-jig

3 Candles

This card is a little more detailed than the last two as I did a little paper piecing in this one. I stamped the candle 3 times, in 3 different colors and then cut them out. I then stamped the flame 3 times and cut them out, too. Before making this card I realized that I had a Garden Green ink pad that has never been used, so I was determined to use it. I got the color combo from the Flock Together DSP. After stamping the candles I realized that I didn't have any Garden Green cardstock, but I think it worked out OK.

Supplies
Stamps: Big Birthday Candle
Ink: Certainly Celery, Tempting Turquoise, Garden Green, So Saffron, Jet Black StazOn
Paper: Certainly Celery, So Saffron, Basic Black

Rockin' Big Wishes

So, I went on a Rock'n'roll frenzy! OK, no I only made two cards with this technique. This is number 2! This is an example of doing the rock'n'roll in a monotone pallet. And this one is way simpler than the first. It's only one layer. I thought about adding a piece of ribbon, but the only coordinating ribbon I had was Whisper White, so the card stayed very simple.

Supplies
Stamps: Big Flowers, Short & Sweet
Ink: Pretty in Pink, Rose Red
Paper: Whisper White

Rockin' Birthday

This week's Clean & Simple challenge on SCS is to use the Rock'n'Roll technique. This is a simple, but striking technique that was actually one of the first stamping techniques I learned! It's always fun to use a technique that you haven't used in a long time! And I love how it turned out with the Summer Sun and Taken with Teal! I was so excited when the edges were more Taken with Teal, but the mixture of the Summer Sun and Taken with Teal produced a green on the inside, and then there's the graduation to just Summer Sun.

Supplies
Stamps: Party Hearty
Ink: Taken with Teal, Summer Sun
Paper: Taken with Teal, Summer Sun, Old Olive, Whisper White
Accessories: Spiral Punch
Technique: Rock'n'roll

Happy Mothers Day!

This is the card I sent to my mom. I hope she likes it! I love this saying that comes with Flight of the Butterfly and I thought it was appropriate for a Mothers Day card. I also thought it would be fun to use a technique I haven't used in a long time and that's the wax resist technique. I always forget that I have glossy cardstock, so I was happy when I remembered it! If you have some glossy cardstock you've been neglecting bust it out and give this technique a go!

Supplies
Stamps: Flight of the Butterfly
Ink: So Saffron, Bashful Blue, Chocolate Chip
Paper: So Saffron, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White, Glossy White
Accessories: So Saffron 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon

Fancy Frame

Tuesday night was the quarter auction and this was one of my items. I applied a Eastern Blooms Chocolate Chip Decor Elements flower to this glass frame. I also cut photo mats of Always DSP to add into the frame. Lastly I stamped a bunch of sentiments from several stamp sets and punched them out with the Large Oval punch and adhered them to Chocolate Chip Scallop Ovals. It was well received at the quarter auction and I hope the winner has the perfect place for it in their home.

Thirsty?

Here's a cute way to serve a bottle of water and one of those individual drink packets! To make the hanger cut a piece of cardstock to 2" x 7 3/4". Score at 2" from each end. One of the scored ends will be your hanger and one will be your pocket. Decorate however you wish! To close the pocket add a brad in each corner. Then slip one of those drink packets into the pocket (sorry it's not pictured).

Supplies
Stamps: Big Flowers
Ink: Chocolate Chip
Paper: Pumpkin Pie, Pretty in Pink, Whisper White, Always DSP
Accessories: 1 1/4" Circle Punch, Scallop Circle Punch, Silver Brads

Dayton Direct Sales Network

Tonight is the monthly quarter auction. I know I've talked about it before, but I never really explained what it was. The quarter auction is put on by a group called Dayton Direct Sales Network (DDSN). DDSN is a group of women all representing different direct sales companies. We have a monthly quarter auction (as well as two large seasonal event) to raise money for charity. We currently have reps from 23 different direct sales companies in the group. So, if you ever need a representative from another direct sales company, such as Avon, Tupperware, or Tastefully Simple I'd be glad to refer you to one of the members of DDSN. For more information about the group and to see the members, visit our website.

And if you are in the Dayton area and would like to attend the quarter auction, let me know and I will give you the details.

Welcome....

Last week I participated in a vendor event here in Miamisburg. I wanted to do a door prize drawing and I figured that not everyone is a stamper/scrapbooker, but everyone lives somewhere. So I decided to offer up this welcome frame. It was very well received and I picked a lucky lady to be the new owner of the frame. Too bad it couldn't stay in my house. It sure does look good up against that green wall!

Supplies
Stamps: Headline Alphabet
Ink: Jet Black StazOn
Paper: So Saffron, Basic Gray, Basic Black, Very Vanilla, Charbon Designer Series Paper
Accessories: Photo Corner Punch, Word Window Punch, 5-Petal Flower Punch, Basic Black 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon, Silver brads

A Little Cowboy

I'm going to a cowboy themed baby shower today. This made me happy because I love wrapping presents. And I especially love when I can make a basket. This was a fun one because it is a gift for a baby boy, so I wanted to use something "boy-ish" for the basket. I found this great bin that fit the gifts perfectly! And then of course I had to make a tag for it! Oh, and then I had to make a matching card, too!

Supplies:
Stamps: Loads of Love, Everything Baby
Ink: Jet Black StazOn, Versamark
Paper: Real Red, Night of Navy, Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla
Accessories: Blender pen, Stampin' Pastels, Basic Black Embossing Power, Heat Tool, Real Red 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon, Stampin' Dimensionals, 1" Circle Punch, 1/4" Circle Punch
