I found one

OK, so I haven't been able to do any stamping, but I found one I haven't shared with you yet. I wanted to practice my watercoloring so I stamped some flowers from Time Well Spent. I like the way they turned out so I used them to make a card. I was also in a glitter phase so I added some Fine Cosmo Glitter to the flowers. I layered the flowers on a piece of Old Olive. I added some Old Olive Polytwill ribbon around the piece of Pumpkin Pie and adhered my flowers to it. I added it to my Tempting Turquoise card base and voila! OK, that's all I can muster right now.

I'm having a root canal on Thursday, so hopefully I'll feel up to stamping some this weekend and I'll be sure to share.

My lack of blogging

I can't do anything right now. I'm on pain meds and running around like a crazy woman. I'm having dental issues. Hopefully tomorrow I'll be feeling better after my dentist appointment and I can feel well enough to stamp. I really had every intention of stamping yesterday, but the pain meds (and the neighbors barking dogs in the middle of the night) had me napping throughout the day yesterday.

Oh, and just a reminder that the Free Wheelin' promotion ends on Wednesday, so make sure you get your order to me by then so you don't miss out on this great offer.

Combo Frog

This card is a combination of two of the challenges on SCS this week. The color combo challenge is Certainly Celery, Pretty in Pink, and Chocolate Chip. I also used the sketch challenge.

I started with a Certainly Celery card base and added a layer of Pretty in Pink which I used the ticket corner punch on. I added some Certainly Celery 1/4" grosgrain ribbon to a piece of Chocolate Chip and added it to my card. I stamped my frog and mushroom in Chocolate Chip on Whisper White using the masking technique. I also stamped the flower on that layer. I watercolored using my blender pens and the ink from the lid of my ink pad. The picture doesn't show it that well, but I colored the frog Certainly Celery (naturally), the top of the mushroom Pretty in Pink, and the stem Close to Cocoa. I adhered it to my card with Stampin' Dimensionals. I thought it was a little unbalanced on the right so I stamped the dragonfly in Chocolate Chip, watercolored it, cut it out and adhered it to the upper corner.

Leave a comment about anything you want and you'll be in the drawing to win a pack of Love & Happiness rub ons. You get 4 sheets of rub ons. One Basic Black, one Whisper White, one Old Olive, and one Chocolate Chip. Please number your post, so it's easier for me to identify the winner. Limited to US residents please. Tell your friends!!!

I will draw a winner when I return home on Sunday afternoon. Have a great weekend everyone!!

Color Inspiration

If you check out the links of recommended stamping blogs over on my side bar you will see kwernerdesignblog. Kristina is a great stamper with a very clean style, which appeals to me since I'm a simple stamper myself. She offers up color inspiration on her blog. This weeks color inspiration is Certainly Celery, So Saffron, Bashful Blue, and Close to Cocoa. I decided to give it a go. I needed a card for a girlfriend who I recently had a good talk with. I want to thank her for being there for me. Well, my memory isn't very good (or maybe I just don't pay attention very well) so I accidentally used Chocolate Chip instead of Close to Cocoa. Oh, well. I still like the way it turned out.

I used one of my favorite retired sets (it's probably my most favorite retired set) You Make Me Happy. I stamped my flowers in So Saffron on Whisper White. I used the masking technique to overlap my flowers. I stamped the centers of the flowers in Chocolate Chip and the stems in Certainly Celery. I mounted my Chocolate Chip layer to my So Saffron base. I then added my strip of Certainly Celery across the Chocolate Chip layer, then added my stamped images. I added a little Certainly Celery 1/4" grosgrain ribbon along the bottom as well. On a scrap of Whisper White I stamped the butterfly in Bashful Blue and punched it out with my 1 1/4" circle punch and layered it on a 1 3/8" circle of Bashful Blue. I mounted it to my card with Stampin' Dimensionals and added a little Fine Cosmo glitter to the center of the butterfly. I thought that the flowers were kind of blending together, so I used my Chocolate Chip marker to outline each of the flowers (and crossed my fingers that I didn't mess up since the card was all put together at that point). I like how they are defined. I then stamped my flower on my envelope for the perfect presentation.

Be sure to check out kwernerdesignblog to see the wonderful inspiration!!

Bridal Shower

I have a bridal shower to go to this Saturday, so of course that means I need a card. I had a little time yesterday (after my IKEA shopping trip) to make a little something. I started with a Close to Cocoa cardbase and added a strip of retired Designer Series Paper which I added a piece of Tempting Turquoise 1/4" grosgrain ribbon to. I stamped the dress from Blooming with Happiness in Close to Cocoa on Whisper White. I watercolored it with Pretty in Pink with my blender pens. I layered it on a piece of Tempting Turquoise and mounted it on my card with Stampin' Dimensionals. I inked up my piece of chipboard with Pretty in Pink, but since I don't have the craft ink it still looked a little brown so I decided to cover it with Stickles. So then I had to add some Stickles to the dress, too. I stamped the envelope with the bottom of the dress in the corner and watercolored it, too.

I hope I can find some time to stamp here in the next few days so I have more to share.

Where have I been?

I've had a busy week. And today I finally got caught up on my sleep. I have done some stamping this week, though. I think everything I made used Enjoy Every Moment, though. And this one is no exception. Oh, and this one turned out a little funkier than I planned. I think this is why I don't use my Stampin' Pastels more often. I stamped the large flowers from Enjoy Every Moment in Whisper White on Basic Black and added Orchid Opulence pastels. I then stamped the small flowers in Whisper White and used Barely Banana pastels. I added it to my Orchid Opulence card base. I then stamped my sentiment from Celebrate Everything in Basic Black on Barely Banana. I stamped my 3 flowers in Orchid Opulence in the upper corner and the rest of my sentiment on a scrap of Whisper White. I added my piece of Whisper White under my piece of Barely Banana and adhered it to my card with Stampin' Dimensionals. What do you think? Is it funky or what?

Scrapbook Sneak Peek

If you are coming to my scrapbook class this month (April 25th) then this is a little sneak peek for you. This is the color combo and stamp set we'll be using, oh and the ribbon slider. I started with a piece of Whisper White and stamped "enjoy" in Chocolate Chip. Using the Stamp-a-ma-jig I lined up the flower in Ruby Red over the e. I also used my SAMJ to stamp "every moment" in So Saffron. I mounted this on a piece of Ruby Red and added a piece of retired Chocolate Chip 1/4" grosgrain ribbon tied on a ribbon slider (from the Silver HPH in the Occasions Mini catalog). I then mounted this on a So Saffron cardbase. I love it when they come together so easy!!!

Oh, and don't forget that this set is part of the Free Wheelin' Promotion. You can get the coordinating Daisy Dash wheel FREE with the purchase of this stamp set during the month of April.

Thank You!

I just want to thank my readers for checking in on me even while I'm away. I had a great visit with my hubby in DC for the weekend and now I'm home again. I'm just getting some stuff done before I can pick up my puppy up from the vet where he was boarded for the weekend. One thing I wanted to do while I didn't have a dog laying his head on my keyboard was to get a post up. This is a card I made for the sketch challenge two weeks ago. Side note: I almost did every challenge on SCS that week! I also decided to break out the pastels which I haven't used in forever! I started with a Creamy Caramel base. I did a dry run of my layers to determine where I needed to adhere my Ruby Red layer to my Old Olive layer. I adhered the two together, then added a piece of Old Olive Polytwill ribbon and adhered it to my cardbase. I stamped my flower from Heartfelt Thanks in Versamark on Whisper White and added Ruby Red and Olive Olive with my Stampin' Pastels. I stamped my sentiment from Short & Sweet in Ruby Red. I slid it under my ribbon and glued it down.

Lindsay's Birthday

I'm going to make this short and sweet because I'm supposed to be packing. I'm heading out of town first thing in the morning and I won't be back until Monday.
My sister-in-law's birthday was last Saturday. This is the card I sent her. I started with a Tempting Turquoise card base and added a strip of Chocolate Chip with a little Tempting Turquoise and Whisper White ribbon. I stamped my birthday cake in Chocolate Chip on Whisper White. I then stamped the image again on a scrap piece of Whisper White with Pretty in Pink and cut out the top part of the cake. I adhered my pink "frosting" to my chocolate cake. I layered the image onto a piece of Pretty in Pink and added a Tempting Turquoise Photo Corner. I stamped my sentiment on the bottom and added a little bit of Stickles to the candles and the cake just for fun.

Have a good weekend everyone. I'll be back on Monday!
