Card and matching envelope
Check out her brooch. She made it with leftover fabric from around her house (her stamp room curtains, her patio furniture pillow) and the Big Shot! She's holding it all together with one of her mother's antique buttons.
This is a card I mailed out earlier this week. And this time is was for a new baby girl! Yay for baby girls! (Not that I don't like baby boys. I just needed an excuse to use pink!) I had to bust out another retired stamp set just because I miss using it. I haven't used You Make Me Happy in a long time. This was one of my favorite stamp sets from a mini catalog and I was really disappointed that it didn't make it into the IB&C, but at least I already had it (and I'm going to keep it forever!).
I was in a frame making mood the other day and this is what I came up with. I'll probably use it for the door prize at the next event I do. I love making name frames.....I wish I had someone specific to make one for.........
Today marks the start of the Holiday Mini Catalog 2009!!!! This great mini catalog is jam packed with new and fun items. And this mini is larger than past minis!!! I know you are going to love Delightful Decorations and the coordinating Ornament punch!! Oh, and then there's Sweet Centers and the Sweet Treat Cups!!! Today I will be spending the afternoon with a lovely bunch of ladies at their monthly after-church crop. This is the make & take we will be doing. They wanted to try their hands at card making, so I thought I would show them just how easy card making can be! And they'll also get to try out the Big Shot, which is great for both cards and scrapbook pages. 
Apparently August was the month for baby boys. Another friend just gave birth to a boy, so again, I needed a card! This time I had to bust out the retired stamp set, Wild About You. It's my favorite stamp set for baby cards. Again, I didn't want to use pastels, so I went with some bold colors again.
A friend of mine just had a baby boy, so of course I need to send a card! And just because it's a baby card doesn't mean you have to use pastel colors. I opted for a bold color combination for this baby card. 
Last night was my monthly scrapbook class and these are the pages we made. We used the Big Shot for these pages! There is no stamping on mine (yet), but there is room to stamp a title. It's hard to tell in the pictures, but the Regal Rose pieces of cardstock are textured with Polka Dots.

Here's another project made with the Big Shot. There's not much stamping on this card, but I don't think it needs anything else.
I got new toys! So of course I had to play. I am now the proud owner of The Big Shot!!!! I've been wanting it ever since Stampin' Up! started carrying it, but I kept bumping it to the bottom of the priority list. Finally I moved it up a few notches and got it and a few accessories. Of course I had to get the Stampin' Up! Backgrounds Texturz plates which were used on this card. I love how it turned out! And how easy it is to use! So if you don't already have one, get yourself a Big Shot!
The last few days a bunch of lucky stampers have been participating in Stampin' Up!'s convention in Salt Lake City, UT. One of the exciting things about convention is the display boards which contain samples of projects using Stampin' Up! products. The samples on the boards are made by demonstrators that have been submitted to Stampin' Up! One of the highlights for those of us not in attendence at convention is to see pictures of the display boards to see if anything we submitted made it onto a board. Imagine my surprise when I spotted something of mine on one of them!!! 
I love seeing my cards on Stamper's Showcase on the SU! demo website! This one is up there today! I just wished they would've straightened out the ribbon before scanning.

Stampin' Up! has a few great deals during their Just for Kids promotion.
This was a fun page to make. And it made me hungry for a caramel apple! It's a Northwest Indiana tradition to get caramel apples from County Line Orchard and even though I no longer live in NWI I do make return visits there often. And when I do in the fall I always make a stop for an apple. The apple with the sprinkles is my favorite! So I dedicate this page to a sprinkle covered caramel apple from County Line Orchard.
You shouldn't just scrapbook momentous occasions. You should also scrapbook your daily life. That's what I did with this page. This page is decidated to my favorite pair of pajamas. 
These are some fun pictures of a night out on the town to celebrate Amber's birthday. And of course I had to use the Cheers to You stamp set for this page. I also used one of my beloved retired alphabet sets.

These were some fun pictures to scrapbook. They are from my first trip to New York City. It was only supposed to be a 1 day trip, but turned into an overnight stay. These were some of the more memorable places we visited (or saw) while we were there.

I'm a little late in sharing these scrapbook pages from my June class. I went out of town to visit some family, came home for a day, and went back out of town for the holiday weekend. So, I'm trying to get back into the swing of things and here I am. So these are the pages we made at the class. We used the Central Park stamp set and we focused on paper piercing. These pages aren't fancy, but they sure were time consuming with all the piercing! I haven't stamped a title on mine yet, since there are not pictures on them, but there's plenty of room across the bottom for a title when I'm ready.

We had some young stampers at Wednesday's workshop so I wanted to make sure the card was easy, but cute. This is the card we made. Well, this is the card I made and my young stampers put their own spin on theirs. And they all turned out great!!
Just a quick post to share with you the Father's Day card I made this year!
I was quite surprised yesterday to find out that a friend of mine had given birth to her baby boy early that morning. She wasn't due until mid-July, but mom and baby are doing well. So I had to get to work on a baby card. Here's what I came up with. And I do have to apologize for the awful picture! 
One of the first websites I check everyday is the demo side of SU! to check out the Stamper's Showcase. Today was no different. But today I was in for a surprise. One of my contest entries was posted! And how appropriate that it be my Cheers to You card since it's my birthday today. 
I love these pictures of Oscar. He's so darn cute and he looks so sad! It just makes me want to love on him. He had this spot on his back that itched, so he kept licking it. He licked it raw. The vet thinks he got stung by a bee. So we had to put a cream on his back and keep him from licking with the E Collar. The poor guy could barely keep his head up and he kept running into things. He sure had a heck of a time getting into his kitty spot with this thing on. And of course I had to take pictures to scrapbook!
I got new stamps!!! Demos were given the option of purchasing a few stamp sets that will be available in the new catalog. I chose to purchase two of the available sets. I purchased Circle Circus, which has several different geometric circle images and Teeny Tiny Wishes which has 28 sentiments. And I love, love, love all the sayings in Teeny Tiny Wishes (and I'm so glad it's die cut!). 
I know I said I'd try to hold off with the Cheep Talk, but I couldn't resist! I noticed the house across the street now has a SOLD sign on it, which means I have a new neighbor coming soon, so I wanted to have a card ready. I also want to take cookies to the new neighbor(s) (yea, I'm that kind of neighbor), but I don't know when they're moving in, so that will have to wait. But for now my card is ready to go. And I knew the cute little bird would make a good welcome card, so I just had to use it! I promise my next post will be bird free. It will likely also have a sneak peek of new stamps that will be available come July!
I love this scrapbook page! Probably because it's of my precious puppy! These are some pictures of one of our trips to the bark park while we were in Miami.
I think this was my favorite project that I entered in the contest. After seeing all the cute flowers people were making out of the folded strip I thought it would make a cute badge. I cut a strip of Sweet Always DSP and punched the edge with the Scallop Edge punch. I then scored at each dip of the scallop and folded each one in opposite directions. I attached the two ends of the strip with Sticky Strip. I then punched a 1 1/4" Circle of DSP and layered it on a 1 3/8" Circle punched from Pumpkin Pie. I attached the circles with Sticky Strip. I then cut a strip of Pretty in Pink and stamped "Birthday Girl" with Simple Serif Mini Alphabet in Chocolate Chip. I cut the ends and attached it with glue dots. I also attached a circle to the back of the badge and adhered the Chocolate Chip 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon to it with Sticky Strip. I also adhered a pin to the back, so it could be worn. Maybe I'll have to recreate one of these to wear on my birthday (in 11 days!).
I entered a contest through Stampin' Up! Unfortunately for me I didn't win. Fortunately for you, I can share my projects with you! This is the first of the 3 projects I'm going to show you, an altered tin. The tin once held Breathsavers and once I was done munching on my mints I thought it would be the perfect tin to decorate! Luckily the sides didn't have any writing or graphics on them and the sticker on the top peeled right off!
