Baby Circles

I got new stamps!!! Demos were given the option of purchasing a few stamp sets that will be available in the new catalog. I chose to purchase two of the available sets. I purchased Circle Circus, which has several different geometric circle images and Teeny Tiny Wishes which has 28 sentiments. And I love, love, love all the sayings in Teeny Tiny Wishes (and I'm so glad it's die cut!).

Supplies
Stamps: Circle Circus, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink: Chocolate Chip
Paper: Certainly Celery, Barely Banana, Chocolate Chip
Accessories: 1" & 1 1/4" Circle Punches, Word Window Punch, Certainly Celery 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon

I also wanted to take a moment to tell you that I won't be posting as often as I had been in the past. I've realized that trying to keep up with this blog has kept me from getting my scrapbooking done. I find that when I sit down to stamp I am focused on making a lot of samples just to post on my blog instead of stamping for me. So, I am going to scrapbook and I will still share what I'm doing with you, but you just won't see me as often.

Back from NYC

I'm back from NYC and I had a great time. I missed all the convention chatter over on SCS since I was on a mini-vacation. I've been trying to get caught up on everything and here's what I have to share. Another phase of Decor Elements is coming. There will be holiday elements as well as elements in other colors. SU! has partnered with Sizzix and we will be carrying the Big Shot die cut machine as well as exclusive SU! dies. This will also create an opportunity to create your own Decor Elements with vinyl! Also, all stamp sets beginning in with the Spring/Summer IB&C will be die cut! For now if you want a little sneak peek of what will be in the I&C that comes out Aug. 11 take a look at the Catalog Sampler by clicking the picture to the right!

The Monkey wants to Wish You a Happy Birthday

It's not your birthday? Oh, well. He says happy birthday any way. I'm slowly working on using this monkey for every occasion possible. This time it's a birthday. I stamped the monkey on Whisper White with Jet Black StazOn. I colored him with my Chocolate Chip and Creamy Caramel markers. I stamped the flag in his hand and colored it in with my Summer Sun marker. I then stamped the birthday hat on a scrap piece of Whisper White and colored it with my Summer Sun and Rose Red markers. I cut it out and added it to the monkey's head. I layered the monkey on a piece of Chocolate Chip and set him aside. I added a piece of Rose Red Prints DSP to my Summer Sun card base. I then added a strip of Creamy Caramel and a strip of Whisper White 1/4" grosgrain ribbon. I added my monkey, then 3 brads to my card. I was attempting to follow last week's sketch challenge with this card, but I didn't have my computer in my stamping studio with me and was going by memory. Unfortunately I didn't follow it quite right. I still think he turned out cute.

That's all from me for now. I won't be posting for a while as I'm headed to NYC. Hopefully I'll have something for you at the end of next week. Bye!

Accessories

I updated the retired accessories list with the items that are no longer available. I'll try to update it every day so you can see what's available if you still haven't placed your order.

Oh, and I wanted to let you know that SU! will allow online ordering later in the fall. I'll post more when I know more!

Quick Wow Flowers

This is another sneak peek stamp set called Wow Flowers. I also used the new Scallop Border Punch on this one. It's just a quick and simple card to try out my new stamp set. I started with a Taken with Teal card base, added a strip of Rose Red that had been punched with the Scallop Border punch. I stamped 3 Rose Red flowers and my Thank You in Taken with Teal. I adhered this strip of Whisper White cardstock and another border of scalloped Rose Red.

I hope you're enjoying the sneak peeks! More to come!

Want More Monkey?

This is my pieced monkey. I stamped him on Very Vanilla, then again on a piece of (retired) Linen DSP. I cut out a few sections of the Linen monkey and glued them to my Very Vanilla monkey. I then stamped the flower in his hand and colored it and his mouth with my ink and blender pens. I mounted my monkey on Real Red and added it to my Close to Cocoa card over a strip and piece of Certainly Celery ribbon. I stamped my sentiment in the bottom corner and admired my cute little monkey. I love him!!!

7.14.2008

Sock Monkey is Here!!!!!

Here he is!!!!! Isn't he cute???? I'm in love!!! I stamped him with Jet Black StazOn on Very Vanilla. I colored him in with Stampin' Pastels (Chocolate Chip, Creamy Caramel and Pretty in Pink). I then stamped the bananas in Jet Black StazOn on a scrap of Very Vanilla and colored them with my Barely Banana pastels and cut them out. I adhered them both to my main image. I then stamped a bunch of bananas on my Barely Banana piece, although I don't think you can see that in the picture and layered my main image on top. I added a Chocolate Chip Round Tab and a Very Vanilla 1" circle that I stamped my sentiment on with Creamy Caramel. I took a strip of Chocolate Chip, stamped a banana on it, and adhered it to my Creamy Caramel card base and added my main image.

I was talking to my husband on the phone while making this card and he was laughing at me because I said "I love the Sock Monkey" at least 4 times during the conversation. But really, I love the Sock Monkey!

Happy Snow Day

Well, we had some nasty weather today and I was told to go home at 12:30. Who am I to argue? So I spent the afternoon and most of the evening stamping!!!! I got to play with my new stamps sets, SAB sets, and get my stuff together for Friday's scrapbook class. Oh, and I was working on some ideas with my new bulk items for upcoming classes. I was a busy girl. And a good one, too, cause when I was done I cleaned up after myself!!! Amazing!!! So here's another creation with a SAB set. I used So Many Scallops which I just love because it works with the Scallop Circle Punch! I stamped the image in So Saffron on Whisper White. I also stamped Polka Dot BG in Bashful Blue on Whisper White. I tied a piece of new Chocolate Chip Polytwill ribbon around it (sneak peak....this will be available in the Occasions mini). I adhered all my layers to my Bashful Blue cardbase using last weeks card sketch from SCS. I added my scallop with Stampin' Dimensionals. I love how it turned out! Very springy on a very icky day!

I love getting the details

One of the best parts of being a Stampin' Up! demo is finding out about upcoming promotions and seeing new products before everyone else. SU! has posted the preview brochure on the website on the demo side and I've already looked at it about a dozen (or more) times. There is some great new DSP, Bali Breeze (bright and cheery) and Ginger Blossom (soft and elegant). There's a great set called Celebrate Everything that is along the same line as Happy Everything, but a different style. Oh, and a cute little set called A Little Birdie Told Me. And with this preview brochure comes the reveal of Rub-Ons. Oh, and a January special. I'm planning my new catty party (in my head) already.

I'm also going to share with you another quick card I made with the new Level 3 Hostess Set, Time Well Spent.

Poor Timing

It seems like Stampin' Up! always posts the new and exciting things on the demo side of the site on days I have to work. Then I don't get to obsess over it all day!! They need to start posting stuff on Mondays or Fridays. Just kidding!!!! I'm just happy to get the sneak peeks. Today's sneak peek is the upcoming Holiday Mini. It will be available Sept. 1. In the meantime I'll let you in on a few secrets.

First: The one I'm really excited about....Supersize Snowflake.........I think the name says it all.

Lots of snowflakes in the sets

A Christmas set that looks a lot like Priceless

Cute tag sets

Cute chipboard for making ornaments and garlands

A set that coordinates with the Boho West Collection

Mini Library Clips

Satin ribbon

Wrapping paper

Cute pumpkin set

and of course more Designer Series Paper

Oh, and did I mention that all the stamps in the Mini are coming die cut? No trimming required.

If you're not on my mailing list and would like to be to receive sneak peeks and the latest Stampin' Up! news send me an email and I'll add yo to the list.
