Getting Punchy With It

I recently had a jewelry party and I wanted to thank they ladies that came to my party, so I included a thank you card for each of them with their order. This is one of the cards I made. It's a punchy card! I stamped the flower from Big Flowers in So Saffron and Rose Red on Very Vanilla and punched it out with my 1 1/4" Circle Punch. I layered that on a So Saffron circle from my 1 3/8" Circle Punch. That was layered on a Scallop Circle in Rose Red. I added a strip of Old Olive on my Perfect Plum base for my flower stem and added my flower head to the top. I then punched a scrap of Old Olive with my Word Window punch and cut it at an angle. I lined the edges up with my "stem" and adhered them as leaves for my flower. I then stamped my sentiment on the bottom corner.

So, in regards to the uploading issue my hubby says I have a memory issue and I can't upload videos, but I can now upload pictures. He's working on it, though and I hope to be able to upload the videos I have waiting for you. Good night everyone and keep your fingers crossed that tomorrow goes a little smoother than today (I lost power overnight, so my alarm didn't go off and I was late for work).

ETA: It was a Lia Sophia party. If anyone is interested in having their own Lia Sophia party I can recommend a consultant. She does a lot of traveling and does parties all over the country.

I've been trying to post a blog for 3 days, now, but I can't seem to upload photos or videos. I hope to get the issue figured out soon and back to posting. Please bear with me.

I stamped today!!!

I managed to sneak in a little stamping time today. I was downstairs cleaning up and I decided that cleaning could wait. I've been dying to do something with this frame since I bought it last week. It's a 12" x 4" frame for a panoramic picture. I started working on it earlier in the week, but didn't get too far. This isn't the DSP or the picture I was originally going to use, but I like these choices better. I used my retired Petals & Paisley DSP and this picture of John and I at a wedding. The "happy" is strategically place over the beer that is on the table. I mounted the picture on a piece of Pretty in Pink and added the flower in the upper corner. As I was working on this Mr. Brown came and delivered my Flower Fusion Accents & Elements, so I added an Old Olive flower over my stamped image using a silver brad. I used my Old Olive and Rose Red Stampin' Write Markers to stamp "find joy in the little things" as well as my flowers from Polka Dots & Paisley. I mounted in on a piece of Rose Red and added a piece of ribbon using a silver brad.

I put this on the piano in the front room.

Feeling Springy!

It's miserable outside. It's cold and snowy, so here's a little springy feeling card to cheer me up. I made this for my husband's grandmother for her 80th birthday. I started with a Pixie Pink base. I stamped the center flower from Big Flowers in Gable Green on my Very Vanilla strip. I then stamped the image again on a scrap of Very Vanilla with Pixie Pink. I punched it out with my 1" circle punch and adhered it with a Stampin' Dimensional. I stamped the other two flowers on either side of the center flower in Pixie Pink. I adhered this to a strip of Gable Green and adhered it to my card base. To finish off my card I added some Very Vanilla 1/4" grosgrain ribbon to it. Inside I stamped a sentiment from Hugs & Wishes.

So, that's all I have time for right now. It's been a crazy busy week and I just haven't had time to stamp. But my work week is over, so I hope to get some stamping time in.

VSN cards

While I was waiting for my hubby to come home on Saturday I had some time to play the Virtual Stamping Night Challenges over on SCS.

Here's one I did for the challenge, Little Black Dress. The object of this challenge was to use black cardstock for the focal image. Here I decided to use 4 focal images. I stamped the flowers from Big Flowers in Whisper White on Basic Black and embossed them with Whisper White EP. I punched them out with the 1 3/8" Circle Punch. I adhered them to a square piece of Whisper White cardstock with Stampin' Dimensionals. I stamped my sentiment on the card base and embossed it with Whisper White EP and added some Black Gingham Ribbon around my cardbase. I then added my focal image to my card base. Tah-dah!!!! I love how the flowers pop in white!

Another one of the challenges was to make a Criss Cross Card. I've only made one other of these and it was fun, so I thought I'd give it another go. This one is not quite as fancy as the first one I made, but there is a time limit for the challenges, so that played a factor.

Recipe
Stamps: Time Well Spent
Ink: Jet Black StazOn, Orchid Opulence, Sage Shadow, Barely Banana
Paper: Whisper White, Orchid Opulence, Sage Shadow, Barely Banana
Accessories: Round Tab Punch, Blender Pens, 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon, Crop-a-dile, 1", 1 1/4" & 1 3/8" Circle Punches

I worked on a few other challenges, but if you want to see them you'll have to check them out in my SCS gallery. My Miss You Tag card uses up some scraps from the scrapbooking class.

Also, I was going to upload a video, but since the hubby was home this weekend he was messing with the computer and updated my video editing software, so I wasn't able to download and edit video. Hopefully I'll be able to some time this week, but I have to work the next few days and was hoping to finish painting the hallway, so we'll see.

Blog candy winner!!!

OK, sorry I'm a little late....it's been a hectic day. So, I got my number from random.org and it says Claudia is the winner!!!!!!!!!!

January Scrapbook Class

Here are the pages we made last night at the scrapbook class. Actually these are my pages. I added some extra ribbon to mine as an example of how to dress it up a bit.

We started with 2 sheets of Rose Red and added our Old Olive strips across the lower half of each page. We cut our photo mats to fit standard size photos. The two mats on the left are 4 1/4" x 6 1/4" and the mat on the right is 5 1/4" x 7 1/4" in Whisper White. We stamped the sentiment on the strip of Old Olive in Jet Black (before we adhered it in case we messed up). On the left we stamped the jumping frog from Unfrogettable and the flower. Some people put the flower in the frog's hand, some put it lower and some put flowers everywhere!!! We colored them in with the Old Olive, Rose Red, and Barely Banana Stampin' Write Markers and mounted it on a piece of Basic Black. Then we stamped the sentiment on a scrap piece of Whisper White and punched it out with the Large Oval punch. I attached my two pieces with a piece of Black Gingham Ribbon. We attached the oval with Stampin' Dimensionals. On the other side of the layout we stamped the lovey frog and using masking we stamped the mushroom. We also colored these in with markers and used the new Fine Cosmo Glitter on the heart. This cute little guy was mounted on a piece of Basic Black cardstock and we all tied a piece of Black Gingham Ribbon along the bottom. Some of the girls stamped "love" using Jumbo Outline Alphabet where it says "Title Here" and some left it blank to add more pictures there. Everyone personalized their page a little bit and we all had a great time. We're looking forward to next month's class.

And don't forget to check my previous post for some blog candy!!!!

Candy Time!!!!

I'm in a really good mood, so I went to my Stampin' Studio to see what I had to give away. And now I'm going to share the love. Leave a comment on this post between now and noon EST Monday, the 21st and you will be entered to win. I'll pick a winner based on a random number generator to receive a pack of retired Rich Regals Mulberry Paper and a Bravo Burgundy and Elegant Eggplant Classic' Stampin' Spot.

Limited to residents of the US and Canada.

Thanks!

Simple page

This is just a simple page with a little bit of pop. I wanted to do something fun with the title, so I kissed my letters. I inked up my Big Deal Alphabet letters either in Really Rust or Creamy Caramel, then kissed them with a flower from Polka Dots & Petals. I also twisted the flower a little. This gave the letters that mottled look. I mounted my pictures on Creamy Caramel and added them to my page. I stamped my giraffe from Wild About You in Really Rust on Whisper White and mounted it on Creamy Caramel. I added a Pewter Jumbo Eyelet and added some Whisper White grosgrain ribbon tied with a piece of hemp twine.

Look for a few more scrapbook pages coming soon, including the pages we're making tonight at my scrapbook class.

So girly

Can it get any girly-er than glitter, flowers, and scallops? I love it! A co-worker got some difficult news, so I thought she could use a pickup. A girly pickup. I stamped my pickup from Loads of Love in Jet Black StazOn and colored the wheels with my Watercolor Pencils and Blender Pens. I then stamped my pickup again on a piece of Almost Amethyst Prints DSP and cut it out. I put the flowers in the bed of the pickup and colored them with Perfect Plum and Certainly Celery and my Blender Pens. Now the fun part. I adhered my new Orchid Fine Cosmo glitter using Tombow Multi. It's so sparkly!!!!!!! Ahhhhhhh, I love it!!!!!!!!!! OK, back on task, I adhered my pickup with Stampin' Dimensionals. I then mounted it onto a piece of Certainly Celery. I took a strip of Whisper White and added the scallops with the Corner Rounder punch. I added that to the bottom of my piece of Perfect Plum, which I added to my card base. I then added my pickup to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals. I stamped "thought you could use a little pickup" on the inside. I hope she likes it!!!!!

At the Hotel

This isn't the scrapbook page I intended to share today, but it seems I haven't taken a picture of the other one. Or at least I can't find a picture. But this page will do. These are a couple of pics I snapped while the kids were playing at the hotel.

I used a More Mustard base and added the Chocolate Chip center, which has two corners rounded. Oh, but first I stamped the Polka Dot BG in the bottom corner. I matted my pictures on Garden Green and added those to my page. I stamped my title using Short Order Alphabet and Jumbo Outline Alphabet in Whisper White. I stamped the flowers and leaves from You Make Me Happy (retired) on Whisper White in More Mustard, Chocolate Chip, and Garden Green and cut them out. I adhered the leaves and attached the flowers with Stampin' Dimensionals. I added a piece of Pewter HPH to frame the word "the" and added the Whisper White 1/4" grosgrain ribbon, which wraps around the back of the page. A little bit of journaling with my Basic Brown Stampin' Write Journaler. It says "Faith and Taj even had fun just hanging out at the hotel."

Stampin' Heather's Store

I've updated the store, so head on over and check it out!

Edited to add: Something's wrong with the PayPal buttons. I've been fighting with them for almost an hour and I can't figure it out. If you would like to purchase any stamp sets (that aren't listed on eBay) send me an email and I will just invoice you.

Just Making a Card

I hope to have plenty of stamping to share with you this week, but I've taken on a home project. I'm painting the upstairs hallway (a Wild Wasabi-ish color). That is going to impact the time I spend in my stamping room. So, I'm almost finished cutting in and I'm starving, so I thought I'd take a chimichanga break and share with you another video. Enjoy!

I scrapped today

And this is what I did. It's the first page for my San Diego scrapbook. I've only got two more pages to scrap and my book is done (not all have been posted here yet). I started with a Pumpkin Pie base and mounted my sunset picture on Basic Black and More Mustard. I cut my fountain picture down and mounted it on More Mustard. I added a strip of Bali Breeze DSP along the bottom as well as a strip of Basic Black cardstock. I stamped the 4 flowers image from A Beautiful Thing in Pumpkin Pie along the black strip. I then added my pictures to the page. I stamped my title with Jumbo Outline Alphabet on More Mustard and Rose Red with Jet Black StazOn and colored in in with my Versamarker. I mounted my title on a piece of Basic Black and adhered it to my page. I wrote the dates of the trip on a piece of Rose Red. I adhered it to my page and added a piece of Pewter HodgePodge Hardware over it. I also added a piece of HPH to my title.

Caution: Kids at Play

The kiddos had so much fun at Balboa Park. We spent a lot of time there playing. The kids had to test out every piece of equipment (more than once). These were a few pictures that I loved of them at the park.

I started with a Old Olive base and added my mats. They are Summer Sun, stamped with the Sanded BG and I inked up the edges with Basic Black. I added my photos and overlapped them a bit (it's my new favorite thing to do). I cut a square of Summer Sun cardstock and stamped Caution Kids at Play with Rough Edges Alphabet and matted that on a piece of Basic Black. I added that to my page with some Stampin' Dimensionals. Lastly I stamped my title, Balboa Park, with Short Order Alphabet kissed with Sanded.

I look forward to doing some more scrapping this weekend!!!

Something Old, Something New

I had a little fun playing with some retired items, hence the something old. I used some Linen Prints DSP and my much hoarded 1/4" Chocolate grosgrain ribbon. This card was so simple to make. I punched out two squares of Linen Prints and one square of Chocolate Chip with my 1 3/8" Square punch. I then stamped my image from Tagger's Dozen on Very Vanilla with Apricot Appeal and punched it out with my 1 3/8" Circle punch. I then punched a 1 1/4" circle from a piece of Apricot Appeal and then punched it out with the Scallop Circle punch. I added my squares to my Very Vanilla card base and then added my stamped image. I added the scallop circle with Stampin' Dimensionals. It was looking a little plain, so I added some beloved 1/4" Chocolate grosgrain ribbon (why, why was it retired????).

Now, for the something new. The new Demonstrator Business Websites are active today. Check mine out.

Sketch

I's been a while since I posted one of my sketches. Actually this is only the second time I posted one of my sketches. I had some time last night to head down to my stamping room and play. I decided to take a look at my sketch folder and see what I could come up with. I also wanted to play with some markers. I don't have many markers so I had to make do with what I had. The result....the color combo you see here. Sage Shadow, Summer Sun, and Barely Banana. What do you think? I like the effect on the flowers, but I don't know about the overall look. Oh, well. Live and learn.

Recipe:
Stamps: Time Well Spent, Short & Sweet
Ink: Jet Black StazOn, Sage Shadow, Summer Sun, Barely Banana
Paper: Sage Shadow, Summer Sun, Barely Banana, Whisper White
Accessories: Whisper White 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon, Hemp Twine

Video!!!

Well, my technical difficulties have been resolved, so for Post #2 today I present a video. It's just me, making a card.

And no, I don't really stamp that fast. It's just video editing awesomeness!

Recipe:
Stamps: Polka Dots & Petals, Celebrate Everything. Polka Dot BG
Ink: Tempting Turquoise, Basic Black
Paper: Tempting Turquoise, Basic Black, Whisper White
Accessories: Scallop Circle Punch, Double Circle Punch, Tempting Turquoise 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon

Technical Difficulties

I had every intention of uploading a video today, but I'm having technical difficulties. Ah, computers....can't live with them can't live without them. Oh, and my "v" is messed up on my keyboard, so I'm going to try to use words that don't have that letter in it any more. Oops, I just did. So instead you get a scrapbook page.I love this page (I think I say that about all my pages). These pictures are so fun and funny and I love Bali Breeze, so I thought I'd combine them. I stamped my title on Tempting Turquoise with Versamark and embossed with White EP using Big Deal Alphabet and Rough Edges Alphabet. I mounted it on a strip of Bali Breeze. I put that piece near the top of my base layer. I then added two more smaller strips of Bali Breeze underneath. I took a piece of Whisper White and stamped the 4 flowers image from A Beautiful Thing in Rose Red on the top, journaled in Old Olive, then stamped the 4 flowers again on the bottom. I mounted my pictures on Rose Red, added the Whisper White grosgrain ribbon using the double circle punch. I adhered those to my base. Then on a scrap piece of paper I stamped the solid flower from A Beautiful Thing in Pumpkin Pie, then stamped the outline image in Versamark and embossed with White EP. I cut those out and adhered them to my page with Stampin' Dimensionals. I wanted to add a little more, so I mimicked the white dots from the Bali Breeze paper in the corners of my base layer and the corners of my photo mats. That's about it. I hope you like it!

Open House Today

Today I am having my new catalog Open House. I've been busy prepping for it and getting carried away with refreshments. I've been making cookies!!!!! Check them out!!! And now my counters are covered in royal icing (that needs to be cleaned up before the open house in 2 hours)!!!

I also wanted to share with you one of the projects I will be demonstrating. These covered Peppermint Patties are a great project for a Valentine's Day gift. If you have kids, these would be great fort hem to give to their classmates. And they're so easy. Start with your Scallop Circle Punch and punch out two scallop circles for each peppermint patty. Then with the 1 3/8" Circle Punch, punch out your next layer. Then stamp your image, here the Love stamp from Tagger's Dozen and punch it out with your 1 1/4" Circle Punch. Put all your layers together and attach them to your peppermint patties with a glue dot. They take no time and are so cute!

Happy New Catalog Day!

Yay!!! The Spring/Summer Collection is here!!! And lucky for you I have time to share this card I made with some of the new items since my neighbors shoveled my driveway for me!!

I love the bold colors in this new DSP, Bali Breeze. Technically I think the blue color in the paper is Taken with Teal, but I don't have Taken with Teal, so I used Tempting Turquoise instead for my card base. I stamped the flower image from A Beautiful Thing in Rose Red on Whisper White. I also stamped the sentiment in Old Olive on the Whisper White. I mounted that on Rose Red and adhered it to my card base. I added two Old Olive strips that were cut from my Word Window Punch. As a finishing touch and because I thought that it needed something else I added the Rose Red button in the top right corner.

So, happy new catty day everyone! If you don't have a catalog you can view it online at the link above or if you'd like a copy for yourself you can purchase one over in my store.

Happy New Year

I hope everyone had a safe and wonderful new year celebration last night. I also hope you had a wonderful 2007 and will have an even better 2008. Mine is off to a rough start. I've spent the last 12 days with my husband, but now he's heading back to DC and I'm still here in Ohio. Although with him being gone I have a lot more time to stamp and scrap.

While he was home I had a little time to hide out in my stamping room and I made this card to celebrate the new year. I stamped the flowers from Polka Dots & Petals with Real Red and Brilliant Blue on Whisper White to look like fireworks. I cut two strips of Real Red cardstock and attached them to my Brilliant Blue card base. I embossed my sentiment by stamping in Versamark and using Whisper White embossing powder. I attached some Whisper White 1/4" grosgrain ribbon with a staple onto my Whisper White piece and added it to my card with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Enjoy everyone and have a wonderful New Year!
